In 2023 a freshly renovated and reimagined Kline Tower (KT) was unveiled at Yale University on Science Hill as the new home of the Yale Institute for Foundations of Data Science, and the Departments of Statistics and Data Science, Mathematics, and Astronomy. Our location matches our vision: to convene faculty from departments and schools across the university, united by shared research interests. The 16-story building, which is the tallest on the Yale campus, features open-concept programming space — including a state-of-the-art conference center on the top floor, with panoramic views of Yale, greater New Haven, and the Long Island Sound. KT’s event and meeting spaces enable faculty and students across departments — as well as visiting scholars from around the world — to gather, collaborate, and spark interdisciplinary discoveries and scholarship. We will convene this conference at the top of KT.
Kline Tower is about 1 mile from most hotels and 1.6 miles from the train station — an easy walk through Yale's historic campus. You can also ride the free Yale Shuttle. Shuttle stops are not marked, so use the live shuttle map to find exact stop locations. If a driver asks for your Yale ID, simply let them know you’re attending a conference; the shuttle office has been notified.
We recommend taking the Blue Line, Red Line, or Orange Line. Kline Tower is the tallest building on Science Hill, so it’s easy to spot (see photo).
Kline Tower’s official address is 219 Prospect Street, New Haven, CT 06511, but the main entrance is not on Prospect Street. The easiest approach is from Sachem Street (pictured). For navigation, use 52 Sachem Street, New Haven, CT as your destination, then walk up the hill to the entrance.
For a live shuttle map with real-time locations and stop details, visit Yale Transit Shuttle Routes.

Yale University is committed to providing support and resources for working parents and caregivers and recognizes that the need for care may make conference participation challenging. In-home care may be scheduled anywhere in the United States (https://my.brighthorizons.com/home).
At FDS, we like to think of ourselves as the happiest place on earth — a community built on inclusion, equity, diversity, truth, and scholarship.
