Fotis Iliopoulos is a research scientist at Google Research, joining the team in August 2021 after completing post-doctoral positions at the Institute for Advanced Study and Princeton TCS group. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, under the guidance of Alistair Sinclair. His research interests span Theoretical Computer Science and Machine Learning, with a primary focus on developing algorithmic techniques for improving Deep Learning efficiency. Additionally, Fotis has worked on stochastic local search algorithms for constraint satisfaction problems and statistical inference. His research contributions include papers presented at conferences like NeurIPS and FOCS. Fotis is actively engaged in academic service, serving as a reviewer for prestigious journals and conferences, and he participated in the Program Committee of RANDOM 2022.
