"Theory and Practice of Foundation Models"
The workshop will be held on October 25-26-27, 2023 at Yale University, and it is organized by Google Research and the Yale Institute for Foundations of Data Science.
The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss the latest advances in foundation ML models, with a focus on the gap between theory and practice. We are particularly interested in talks that address the following topics:
-
The challenges of deploying foundation models in real-world applications
-
The need for new evaluation metrics and benchmarks for foundation models
-
The development of new algorithms and techniques for improving the performance and reliability of foundation models
-
Algorithmic technique to scale up foundation models efficiently
-
The ethical and societal implications of foundation models
Organized by Amin Karbasi, Vahab Mirrokni, Dan Spielman, and Manzil Zaheer
Managed by Emily Hau and the FDS team.
